Josh Gad knows who to invite for his next special offer, Reunited Apart, because the actor has a special offer for Monday September 15th. In June a meeting between the actors and the Ghostbusters team is scheduled. At the end of the last release of the popular web series Gad, a Ghostbusters meeting was held where the theme song of the film was played and where the next edition of Reunited Apart, to be released on May 8th, was promoted. June should be here soon. Due to media attention to the issue of black life and last week’s worldwide protests, the video was eventually postponed, although Gad has watched it on YouTube when it will be broadcast live.
In the preview Josh Gad speaks for the first time with Jason Reitman, son of the original director Ivan Reitman. Following in his father’s footsteps, Jason will lead the next suite of Ghostbusters: Life After Death, to be published next year. Oh, you just wanted me to take my dad? Jason makes jokes in the preview of Reunited Apart and pretends to be disappointed. This opens the door for Ivan to ring the bell and confirms that both Reitman and Ghostbusters will attend the big Ghostbusters convention next Monday.
POWERFUL: The original cast of Ghostbusters will one day, very soon, be reunited with master Josh Gad.
The sample clip also shows some returning actors from the SOS Ghosts series. Among them is Annie Potts, who plays the role of the team’s secretary, Janine Melnitz, in two original films. Ghostbusters, says Annie with Janine’s familiar voice as she joins Zoom’s call and directs the classic character. Although we can only see fragments of the actors at the end of the video, the preview also confirms that the special program of Reunited Apart will include Bill Murray (Peter Venkman), Dan Aikroyd (Ray Stanz), Ernie Hudson (Winston Zeddemore) and Sigourney Weaver (Dana Barrett).
Perhaps less shocking, Rick Moranis is not mentioned in the preview. For the time being, nothing says it will surprise the reunion. Because Moranis gave up Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters: Pick up the phone and the next Ghostbusters coming: In the afterlife, he too does not seem to want to participate in a digital stakeholder meeting for Reunited Apart. However, it would have been an incredible moment if Gad had shown up with an unexpected performance and eventually reunited Moranis with the rest of the cast, but it probably wouldn’t have been worth it.
Warden: Jason Reitman, Ghostbusters: Life After Death was written jointly by Reutmann and Gil Kenan. While all members of the above cast will re-release their classic roles, the sequel will mainly follow the new family, played by Carrie Coon, McKenna Grace and Finn Wolfard. Paul Rudd will also play the role of a professor who is fascinated by the history of Ghostbusters. The film was originally scheduled for release this summer, but the closure of film theatres across the country led Sony to move the date of the sequel to the 5th anniversary of the release of the film. March 2021.
Gad’s Reunited Apart with the Reitmans and the Ghostbusters cast will be aired on YouTube from 9am onwards. PT, or 12 hours. EST, on Gada’s official YouTube channel. The funds raised at the meeting will benefit the Equal Justice initiative, which calls for an end to mass arrests, disproportionate sanctions and racial inequality.
